He was a Kansas City, Missouri Police Officer for 29 years having retired in 1994. He also worked a few years for the Greenwood, Missouri Police Department.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Bambi Shippert and granddaughter, Alissa Shippert. He is survived by his wife Jenila Brower; daughters, Tammy and Kathleen Brower; son-in-law, Landis Shippert; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
