Funeral Services For Harry De Groot Held At Doon On March 28
Last rites for Harry De Groot, 36, were held at his home in Doon and at the First Reformed church at Doon on Wednesday, March 28. Rev. R. Dykstra officiated and burial was made in the Doon cemetery. Harry De Groot died on March 25 at the Swallum hospital at Storm Lake, Iowa, at the age of 66 years and 13 days.
He was born March 13, 1885, at Kalamazoo, Mich. He was married to Mary VerDoorn at Rock Valley on December 26, 1907.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife and and five children: Abel, of Grand Rapids, Mich., Elsie (Mrs. M. Schilt) of Storm Lake, Sadie (Mrs. Eugene Tal) of Akron, Ohio, Ann (Mrs. Albert Baartman) of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Harold, of Grand Rapids, and five grandchildren.
