Pioneer Resident of Desoto dies on Downtown Blair Corner
Charles O. Hineline, 77, Desoto pioneer and farmer, died suddenly Friday morning, July 22, while at the H. J. Cooke Store corner, Walker Ave. and Washington St. He had been in poor health since suffering a stroke in September of 1945.
Mr. Hineline was born on a farm near DeSoto on June 20, 1872, the son of Mr. And Mrs. Solomon Hineline, lived his entire life on that farm. He was married to Effie May Lusk at Logan, Ia., March 28, 1909.
Survivors include the widow. Effie May; two sons, William and Virgil, both of DeSoto; a brother, Solomon Hineline of DeSoto; and a sister, Mrs. Ollie Fancher, Oregon City, Ore.
Funeral services were held in the First Lutheran Church Sunday, July 24, with the Rev. H.C. Jorgensen officiating. Burial was in Blair Cemetery. The Campbell Mortuary was in charge of arrangements
