Veda May Armstrong, 78, of Shelbyville, formerly of Beecher City, died at 10:45 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 27, 1992) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Lockart & Sons Funeral Home, Cowden, with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden.
She was born June 2, 1914, in Shelby County, the daughter of Silas and Nellie Lou Grace Hinton Babb. She married Howard Richard Armstrong May 11, 1949, in Urbana.
Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Betty Lou Bowman of Beecher City, one son, Robert E. Lee Lawson of Boody; one brother, Fred V. Babb of Charleston; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Barry Turner; one granddaughter, Roberta Lynn; two brothers, Clarence and Wilbur Babb; one sister and several stepbrothers.
