A funeral service for Robert Willis Ira "Bobby" Hinton, 25, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Douglas, Wyoming with Reverend Linda Wells officiating. Interment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery with full military honors.
Bobby Hinton a former resident of Douglas and more recently of Helena, Montana died Saturday, September 10, 2011 at his home.
Bobby was born December 19, 1985 in Laramie, Wyoming the son of James Earle and Dawn Marie (Follum) Hinton. He was raised and educated in Wyoming, and graduated from the Douglas High School in 2004. He joined the United States Army in the summer of 2004. He did his basic training in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He had completed two tours of Afghanistan. He was a recruiter for the United States Army in Helena at the time of his death.
He was married to Amber Marie Goodell on January 16, 2007 in Casper, Wyoming.
He was active in school with swimming, soccer, basketball, and he was a state swimmer in Utah and a state diver in Wyoming. He enjoyed drawing and had won a national award which is still hanging in the hallway of Wagon Wheel School in Gillette, Wyoming. He and his brother, Chris, painted a mural at the Sunshine School in Gillette. He played musical instruments by ear, and had played Taps for the honor guard.
Bobby loved his wife, children, and family very much.
He is survived by his wife, Amber and children, Bailee Hinton and Tavin Hinton all of Helena; father, James Earle (Debra) Hinton of Mooresville, North Carolina and mother, Dawn Marie Follum of Laurel, Montana; brothers, Chirstopher Hinton of Douglas and Michael Hinton of Edgerton, Wyoming; step siblings, Camilla Brown of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Samuel Phipps of Stillwater, Oklahoma; maternal grandparents, Willis and Lynn Follum of Glenrock, Wyoming; paternal grandparents, James and Nancy Hinton of Windsor, Colorado; and maternal great grandmother, Minnie Lane of Douglas.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandfather, Chet Lane.
A memorial to the Bobby Hinton Memorial Educational Fund for his children, Bailee and Tavin, in care of the Converse County Bank, P.O. Box 689, Douglas, Wyoming would be appreciated by the family.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M.
