Harriet May Hill was born 1 July 1887 in Sand Creek, Bingham, Idaho, USA*. She was 2nd of the ten children born to George and Harriet Cordelia [Harmon] Hill. Siblings: William Ammon Hill (1886-1913), Mary Alzina Hill (1888-1964), Percy Alma Hill (1890-1918), Jesse Ivan Hill (1892-1947), Almeda Martha Meda Hill (1894-1930), Cora Margaret Hill (1896-1919), Harry Harmon Hill (1897-1936), George Hill (1899-1899) and Marion Hill (1902-1902).
Her father, who was originally from England, came to the United States when he was a boy of fourteen years and soon after his arrival he located with his parents in Utah where he grew to manhood. There he married Harriet Cordelia (Delia) Harmon and with the valuable aid of his good wife carried on farming very successfully until 1884. In that year he left Utah and, bringing his family with him located on a homestead six or eight miles west of Rigby, Jefferson, Idaho. After farming here for twelve years, he sold this tract and bought a farm one mile southeast of the county seat, where he resided the rest of his life which ended in May, 1911. On 14 April 1908 in Ogden, Weber, Utah, May was united in marriage to Thomas Gabriel Taylor. They were the parents of four sons and one daughter: Ancel Newell Taylor (1908-1983), Thomas Ivan Taylor (1909-1973), Virgil [Taylor] Adams (1911-1995), Stanley Leroy Taylor (1912-1973) and Gerwin George Taylor (1914-1989). They give their spiritual and material support to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and reared their children according to the tenets of their faith. At the age of 32 years, May was diagnosed with Cholelithiasis (gall stones). In December of 1920 she developed complications from it. She passed away in Idaho Falls, Bonneville, Idaho on 8 February 1921 and she was laid to rest on 12 February 1921 in the Ririe Shelton Cemetery in Bonneville County, Idaho.
