Daughter of Elijah Alfred Leap And Mary Virginia Armentrout

Harrisonburg, Feb. 14. — Mrs. Homer F. Thomas, sixty, widely known teacher and
resident of the Montezuma section, died at her home Saturday night following an
illness of several months.

Mrs. Thomas taught school for fourteen years in Rockingham County and to her
former pupils and their children she was still affectionately known as "Miss
Annie."

Mrs. Thomas, formerly Anna Mary Leap, was born near McGaheysville, and was
married to Mr. Thomas in 1904. She was a devoted wife and mother, and had been a
member of the Methodist church since childhood.

Surviving, besides her husband, are seven children, Mrs. Howard S. Payne,
Washington; Evangeline Thomas Madison College, Harrisonburg; Emory Thomas;
Harrisonburg; Elsie Thomas, near Vienna; Dorothy. Norman and Frank Thomas, at
home; four brothers, Floyd H. Leap, McGaheysville; Lester S. Leap, Roanoke; C.
C. Leap, Waynesboro; John L. Leap, Front Royal; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie E.
Davis and Mrs. T. W. Richards, both of Elkton.

Funeral services were conducted from the Dayton Methodist church this afternoon
at two-thirty, the Rev. H. L. Hoffman officiating, assisted by the Rev. J. L.
Early. Interment was in the Dayton Cemetery.
