Professional Football Player. After graduating from the University of Texas at El Paso, he was picked by the New York Giants in the 6th round of the 1983 NFL Draft. He played guard with the Giants in 36 games over two seasons, from 1983 to 1985, until he was involved in a career-ending auto accident. In the 1990s Belcher made news again when he was falsely arrested in the Houston Airport, in a controversial case of profiling by a Federal DEA agent.
