Helen Irene Watts, 94, of Lebanon, died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at her residence.
Born Jan. 26, 1917, in Casey, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Glen and Nellie Alexander Lashbrook.
On Dec. 23, 1938, she married Clifford Watts in Casey, Ill., and he died May 13, 1991.
Mrs. Watts was a homemaker and lived on the farm most of her life. She worked at nursing homes in Lebanon and then at the garment factory and canning factory.
She was a member of Faith Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed flowers, listening to Christian music and being around her family.
Surviving are five daughters, Joan Strong (husband: Tom) of Lafayette, Wanda Hampton (husband: Paul) of Lebanon, Betty Vansickle (husband: Wayne) of Whitestown, Pat Helton (husband: Chuck) of Avon and Shirley Galbraith of Carbon; a son, Ernest Watts (wife: Ruth) of Lebanon; five brothers, Paul, Charles, Harold, Dick and Raymond Lashbrook; and two sisters, Ann Trent and Wilma Hill.
Also survivingare 18 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a grandchild; a sister; and a brother.
Calling 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home in Lebanon. Service 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at the funeral home, Rev. Royce Ford officiating. Burial in Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown.
