Fidelia was born in Schuyler County, Illinois in 1841 and moved to Bement, Piatt County, Illinois in 1857, She was a twin with her sister Sara Ann Bryant (1841-1842). She married Edwin Bruce Sprague February 8, 1866, son of John and Sophia (Clark) Sprague of Ohio. Her and her husband moved to Riverside California in the winter of '88. Fidelia and Edwin had six children, only two grew to adulthood, Edwin Jr. and John. She died at her home in Riverside, California of a complication of diseases. She was well known and loved in this community. She professed her faith and united with the Presbyterian Church in early womanhood. She was devoted to her family and church, always ready to help the cause by good work and word.

Edwin and Fidelia had five children together and adopted a sixth, They are:

Edwin Bruce (1868-1927)
Sophia Sarah (1871-1872)
John Francis (1874-1931)
Frederick Briscoe (1877-1878)
Harriet (Hattie) Fidelia (1881-1882)
Mary K (adopted) (1882-?)
