Harry L. Curtis, 70, who made his home with his son, Richard Curtis of 133 Prospect, died at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday at Passavant hospital where he had been a patient since August 14. Mr. Curtis was custodian at Jacksonville High School for 15 years.
He was born June 11, 1898 in Scott County, son of Charles and Mary Ann Greenwood Curtis. He married Opal Phillips of White Hall in 1918. She preceded him in death.
Surviving are his son Richard and a daughter, Mrs Helen Bohne of Livingston, Montana; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Edna L. Spencer of Roodhouse, Mrs Martha Kane and Mrs. Mary Jane Overbaugh, both of Joliet; and two brothers, Howard and Russell, both of Jacksonville.
An aunt, Mrs. Clara McQuown of New Carlyle, Ohio and several nieces and nephews, also survive.
Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
