He worked as a fisherman in Philadelphia. On Christmas day, 1850, he married Rebecca Sayer at the First Presbyterian Church of Kensington in Philadelphia. At the time of the 1850 census, he was living with his parents He, his wife and one of his four children, Mary Faunce, appear in a census in 1860 and are living next to his brother Benjamin Naglee Faunce but they do not appear in later censuses. According to another family tree, they had three other children who were born and died between 1853 and 1860; Isaac, Clara Mickle, and William.
A Return of Death in the City of Philadelphia for a William Faunce indicatea that William died of nephritic [kidney] abscess at the University of Penn Hospital on April 27, 1897, and was buried in the Palmer Grounds on April 30, 1897. There are two items in this Return of Death that indicate it may apply to a William Faunce other than William Henry Faunce; it says he is single and his occupation is a gentlemen.
