The inscription on the large vertical stone with the family surname indicates that this complex of stones for the family of his parents Alexander Hay Bell and Susannah Spooner was created according to his wishes, but he is actually buried in neighbouring Cataraqui Cemetery along with his wife and several children and children-in-law.

In addition to the parents, the names of seven of their nine children appear here, along with an unidentified "Baby Finigan" who is likely a grandchild or great-grandchild of uncertain last name.
