Letter from Margaret (Scott) Lee in Oklahoma to, Sister, Louisa (Scott) Cullers in California written December, 29 1906:
Dear Sister Louisa, once more I will try and write you a few lines. I have not had a letter from you since last April. We are all well and hope you are all well and enjoying some of the many blessings of this life. We have had one snow this winter. Christmas was very quiet here. Christmas trees at all the churches.
I got some nice presents but did not go to the Christmas trees. We had good crops here this year. Farmers still gathering corn. Sam and Annie are going to school. They both help in the store when not in the school. My son Ben has sold out here and is going to Oregon Co., Missouri in a few weeks. Joe is well fitted here. He owns four hundred and twenty acres of land here in one body.
Tell Jane I often think of her when she was a girl. There has been many changes since then. Many joys many sorrows to all of us. I have a nice home here with Ada. Plenty of all the nice things that I want. I own three lots here. We will soon have a railroad here. They are working in a few miles of town. Now lots are getting higher all the time. Well I hope that Billy is better. But don't know if he can be so.
I have not heard from Brother Jackson over a year. I put the return on my letters they did not come back so I think he got them. Seems strange that he don't write to me. Does he write to you? I had a letter from William this summer. His health was only tolerable good. Emma, Joe's wife, went back to Grundy (County) to see her folks last fall. She said every thing and every person seemed changed so that she did not enjoy herself very well.
Well Louisa, I would love so much to see you all but don't have any hopes of that in this world. Don't know what to write that would interest you. Do write and tell Jane and any of the children to write. My love to you all. May the Lord Bless you all. Write soon and often. The children all join in love to you all.
Your loving sister,
