Census: 1860, age 55(sic), Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, with two sons and their kids, others and Captain William Edward Woodruff, Junior (1831AR-1907AR) living with her in her Markham Street mansion. William E Woodruff listed next and Edmund Burgevin before her listing, she's listed with $500,000 real estate and $16,000 personal.
Widow Ashley continued living in their home at what now is southeast corner Scott and Markham until September 1863 then left when Union Army occupied Little Rock with General Frederick Steele (1819NY-1868CA) occuping the Ashley Mansion as his headquarters. Mrs. Ashley never returned before her May 1865 death. In 1885 it become the Oakleaf Hotel with 17 large, light, and airy bed chambers. The house was torn down in the 1920s to make way for commercial buildings.
