Revolutionary War soldier, he served in the 4th South Carolina Regiment under George Washington; Private, 10th Reg., Brevards Co., 1782, 18 Months service. Son of William Hargrave & Unknown Bishop; Born 1762 in North Carolina, died July 27, 1827; married Susannah McMurtry.

This grave is not believed to be his original burial site. The original burial site was reported in family documents to be Gray's Cemetery [Gray's Cemetery is believed to be part of Wesley Chapel cemetery and not a separate cemetery]. This gravestone at Wesley Chapel Cemetery was dedicated by the local DAR chapter in 1990.
