| Birth: | Aug. 14, 1939 Fort Worth Tarrant County Texas, USA | | Death: | Jun. 5, 1978 Fort Worth Tarrant County Texas, USA | Charles Darrell Hunter was born on August 14, 1939 in Fort Worth Texas to Clarence and Stella Hunter. He was the youngest of seven children. Charles didn't finish high school but instead he went into the Air Force. He was stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming for three years. After his stint in the Air Force he came home and married his girlfriend at the time, Vernell. They had one child, Evonne. Charles always loved horses and he had a way with them. They seem to know that he loved them and there wasn't much that he couldn't get a horse to do. He had such a way with them I think that he was the original horse whisperer. We would ride together although I must say that I was not his favorite riding partner. Let's just say that I don't have the grace that one should have while sitting atop a horse and at three years of age, well, it was gonna take a lot longer to teach me than he could spend. Still, he was my Uncle Charles and I loved him. He passed away at thirty seven from lung cancer. The good die young. We are gonna ride again someday.
