Catherine "Kate" Scobee was the daughter of John Scobee born 1720 Scotland, and his 2nd wife, Dolly.
Catherine never married, but raised the children of her brother, Daniel Scobee and his wife, Caty Rodgers.

In the name of God, Amen, I Catharine Scobee of Nicholas County State of Kentucky, living of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of life, do therefore make, ordain and declare this to be my last will and Testament-that is to day, after all my just debts and funeral expenses are paid; First, I will that the farm and all the appurtenances thereto-with the Servants, live stock, farming utensils house hold and kitchen furniture & shall maintain as they are at my death, and be in possession of my sister Dollie Kenedy. Margaret Scobee and John Scobee my niece and nephew, and no others under the advice and instruction of my Nephew James Scobee, during the natural life of my sister Dolly Kenedy; Secondly, I give and bequeath to James Scobee his heirs and api--- to have and to hold forever the Negro Woman, Matilda (now in his possession) with all her increase, with one hundred dollars of present currency to be paid out of any unappropriated money; Thirdly; I give and bequeath to my old servant Mahala two hundred dollars currency to be paid. One hundred dollars at my death and one hundred dollars at the death of Dolly Kenedy when the estate is finally settled; Fourthly, at the death my sister Dolly Keney (actual spelling) the land is to be sold to the highest bidder and the proceeds to be appropriated as follows, to wit, First to my niece Catherine Jones? (maybe) the sum of two hundred dollars currency; Secondly to my Niece Polly Clifford one hundred dollars currency. Thirdly to my niece Catherine the daughter of my Nephew George Scobee (do not know her married name) Fifty dollars currency, and the residue to be equally divided between the legal heirs of my brother Daniel Scobee and my sister Ann Boggs, the servants. Namely Mahala, Eliza, Simey, Charles, Amanda, Molly, Emma, Thomas and Ellen at the death of my sister Dolly Kennedy (or as many as may survive her) and all increase shall be divided agreeably to lot among the legal heirs of my brother Daniel Scobee and my sister Ann Boggs, with a guarantee they are not to be sold out of the family. The personal property should be sold and the proceeds thereof equally divided between the legal heirs of my brother Daniel Scobee, or they may divide the property among themselves; Further more I am appoint my Nephew, James Scobee as my executor to see this my last will and testament to be faithfully carried out. Witness my hand and seal this Eleventh day of August 1864
