`Frank Benjamin Mellor, 84, father of Mrs. Walter H. Beech, president of the Beech Aircraft Corporation. Born January 23, 1867, in Marietta, Ohio. Married Susannah Miller there on July 17, 1888, and the couple came to Kansas 50 years ago, living at Waverly and Paola before coming to Wichita in 1917. Retired from his work as a carpenter in 1923 and then owned and operated a restaurant until 1932. Then worked at the Beech Aircraft corporation until retirement in 1942. Mrs. Mellor died in 1939. Survived by three other daughters in addition to Mrs. Beech, Mrs. Lee Beckett, 2324 Random Road, Mrs. C. E. Weiser, Oyster Bay, New York, and Mrs. R. J. Probst, Route 3 with whom he made his home, and by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Wichita Eagle, March 1, 1951, page 5.
