FUNK, JACOB B (1806-1880)

Funk Cemetery, Sheffield Township, Tippecanoe county, Indiana
Jacob Funk, an old and substantial farmer, of Sheffield township, was found dead in his bed this morning at his farm some four and a half miles southeast of Dayton. Funk was a man of some seventy years, although still hale and hearty, and was subject to no sickness. Last evening he retired apparently in his usual health and spirits and without a premonition of anything wrong. This morning the family went to call the old man for breakfast, they found to their horror that he was dead. Mr Funk has been for the past forty-five years a resident of this county, and has accumulated in that time quite a large amount of property. He was well known in this city, and spent a large part of his time here. Coroner Yount has been notified of the facts and will probably go out to the farm this evening and hold an inquest. The case certainly warranted an investigation
