Beverly Jean Brillhart, age 63, a native of California, passed away Dec. 15, 1995 after a brief courageous, battle with cancer. She was born and raised in Santa Cruz County, California and most recently resided in Marietta, Georgia. Though she and her family have lived in many places throughout the United States, she always referred to California as her home.

Beverly is survived by her husband of 33 years, Mervyn "Jim" Brillhart, of Marietta, Georgia; a son, Christopher Henderson of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Tami and Chris Cook of Ventura; and a son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Shannon Brillhart of Ventura. She also leaves behind her prized grandchildren, Sara and Tyler Cook. Beverly always had time to "adopt" others. There are many who considered her their mom. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents James and Franchelle Edsberg of Watsonville, California. She will be dearly missed by her siblings, Joyce Upson of Brookings, Oregon; James Edsberg Jr., Clara Kralj, and John Edsberg, all of Watsonville. Her loving family, and many friends, will miss her. Beverly was a very artistic person. She worked as an interior decorator prior to starting a family. After raising her children, she returned to the decorating business. Most recently, she enjoyed working in the jewelry industry. She was an accomplished ceramist and a gifted seamstress who loved to quilt. She leaves behind a legacy of quilts made with loving attention to detail.

Visitation was at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, Sunday, Dec. 17, 1995 from 4-6 p.m. Requiem Mass was said at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 18, 1995 at Padre Serra Church in Camarillo. Graveside services followed.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ventura County Rescue Mission.
