Served in the French and Indian War as a Lieutenant. Known as the "Rebel Counselor." Regarded as a famous Georgia hero of the Revolutionary War. He was acting Governor of Georgia during the American Revolution. Helped to establish the state of Georgia. Host to President George Washington on May 18, 1791 at his Glascock plantation home, 4 miles south of Augusta, Georgia. Father of Brigadier General Thomas Glascock Sr. and grandfather of Brigadier General Thomas Glascock Jr. Both famous officers and US Congressman.
