| Birth: | Oct. 23, 1840 | | Death: | 1902 |  The second wife of Charles Kendall Adams, she was a Shakespearean student and authored Epithalamium, The Song at Midnight, The Choir Visible, and Sonnets and Songs. Mary donated her private library to the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, and left her jewels to endow the Madison Art Fund. She died a month after Charles, attended by her friend, Pulitzer Prize-winning author Zona Gale. She was initially buried in California, then reburied at Forest Hill. (bio by: Laurie)
