ST. CHARLES — Lola Deane Lewis Hill, 81, passed away peacefully from this life on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at the Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Home in Montpelier, Idaho, from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was born November 5, 1927, in Paris, Idaho, to Samuel and Olive Passey Lewis. She grew up in Paris and graduated from Fielding High School in 1946. Lola was the eighth child of 11 brothers and sisters.
On August 29, 1946, Lola married Clinton M. Hill. They lived and worked in Bear Lake Valley until 1948, when they moved to California where a son, Lynn M. Hill, was born in 1948. Lola was a very caring mother and enjoyed her home, work and family. After 33 years in California they returned to Bear Lake Valley to enjoy their retirement.
Lola was a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many church positions, including Primary teacher, second counselor in Relief Society, and served as Relief Society president for three years in the St. Charles Ward. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at noon in the St. Charles LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may visit with the family that morning from 10:30 until 11:45 a.m. The interment will be in the St. Charles Cemetery, with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier.
