Steve Marshal Baylis, 58, of Houston, Texas passed away Friday, July 13, 2007, at Clear Lake Regional Hospital. Mr. Baylis was born one of four children on Nov. 10, 1948, in Hattiesburg, Miss., to the late Robert Virgil and Victoria Cartee Baylis. He was a 1966 graduate of Pascagoula High School and attended Jackson County Community College.

In 1990, he and his family moved to Houston, Texas, where he was a terminal manager for Shippers Stevedoring Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Linda Hockaday.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Ware Baylis; two daughters, Stephanie and Sara; a beloved granddaughter Caitlyn Grace Picklesimer all of Houston; a sister, Mary Sue Baylis Sisco and her husband, Gary of Franklin, Tenn.; a brother, Gerald Baylis and his wife, Marie Sanders Baylis of Gautier, Miss.; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Rev. David Aultman will officiate the funeral service on Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at 11 a.m. at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home Chapel in Pascagoula, Miss., with visitation one hour prior to service.

Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs, Miss.
