The daughter of Squire Woodford Short and his wife Abigail Jane Lewis, both born Lonedell, Franklin Co., MO. Squire was son of Eli Short and Nancy Bay. Jane was daughter of Daniel Lewis and Abigail Brown.

She married 5 Aug 1877, Lonedell, Franklin Co., MO, to Stephen A. Taylor, son of David C. Taylor and his wife Rebecca Jane Short.
