TROY - Services today for Lealon H. Mantooth, 86, will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Killeen with the Rev. Larry Heimsoth officiating. Burial will be at Killeen City Cemetery.
Mantooth died Feb. 13, 2000 at a local hospital.
He was born Sept. 7, 1913, in Ocoee, Tenn.
Mantooth was raised and educated in Tennessee. He received a bachelor of arts degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Harogate, Tenn.
He graduated from the U.S. Navy pilot training in Pensacola, Fla. He was a pilot for American Airlines for 34 years. Mantooth trained military pilots during World War II at Homestead Air Force Base, Fl. He was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Temple.
He married Juanita Wells on Aug. 27, 1938.
Survivors included his wife, Juanita Mantooth of Troy; a son, Lealon J. Mantooth of DeRidder, La.; two daughters, Jaylon E. Buie of Killeen and Bebe E. Mantooth of Troy, a sister, Eloise Winkler of Chatsworth, Ga.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
