Mass was celebrated Sunday in the Brigittine Monastery, Amity, for Reginald Francis "Bud" Hayes of McMinnville.
Mr. Hayes died Jan. 2, 2004, in his home. He was 79. Disposition was by cremation.
He was born May 20, 1924, in Orcutt, Calif., son of John George and Marguerite Murphy Hayes. During World War II, he served in the European Theater with the Army's 284th Combat Engineer Battalion and earned three battle stars.
He graduated from Oregon State College, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He and Rosalee Killam married April 30, 1949, in Portland.
Mr. Hayes spent his business life in the automobile and real estate fields in Oregon, California and Hawaii.
Since 2000, he and his wife had been living with their daughter in McMinnville.
Survivors include his wife of McMinnville; a daughter, Tracy Hayes of McMinnville; and two sons, Jeff Hayes of Portland and Bryan Hayes of Port Townsend, Wash.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John George Hayes Jr.
The family suggests remembrances to the Cancer Society, American Lakes School for the Blind and hospice.
