Betty Burkhardt
Betty L. (Hewitt) Burkhardt, 80, died April 5 at her home in Damascus. She was the wife of Winston Burkhardt, her husband of 62 years.
Born April 27, 1925, in Omaha, Neb., she was a daughter of the late Roland B. and Edith Frostom Hewitt.
She devoted her life to homemaking, various church activities including Global Missions, her beloved family and friends.
Surviving besides her husband are four children: Barb Musgrove of Florida; Bob Burkhardt of Virginia; and Betsy Merrell and Bill Burkhardt, both of Maryland. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Neelsville Presbyterian Church, 20701 Frederick Road, Germantown.
At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Burkhardt's name to Neelsville Presbyterian Church⁄ Global Missions Fund, 20701 Frederick Road, Germantown MD 20874.
