Finn Burnett was an Indian fighter, mail coach driver, miner, pioneer cattleman, participant in the Powder River expedition, survivor of the Hay Field fight, associate of Jim Bridger and Chief Washakie.

He was also the head farmer at the Shoshone Agency in Wyoming.

Upon the breaking out of the Civil War, Fincelious Gray Burnett enlisted in the Monticello Grays, C.S.A. After the war he went to Omaha, Nebraska and later to Missouri.In 1866 he went back to Omaha. In 1868 he went to North Platt. In 1869 he went to South Pass, Wyoming.

In 1870 he married in Atlantic City, Wyoming to Miss Eliza Ann McCarthy, a native of New York.

In 1871 he came to the Valley where he resided until his death in 1933.
