Mrs. Charlotte Ann Wiles, 64, of Frederick, died Saturday, Dec. 15, at Frederick Memorial Hospital of respiratory failure.
She was the wife of the late Paul V. Wiles, who died September 1998.
Born March 20, 1937, in Newton, Mass., she was a daughter of the late William H. and Thelma C. Smith Elliott.
Mrs. Wiles was employed by Alcoa Eastalco Aluminum Co. as a switchboard operator.
She was an avid gardener.
Mrs. Wiles enjoyed singing and had performed with the Sweet Adelines and the Golden Tones.
She also was active with the Fifty Plus Singles Group in Frederick.
Surviving are two daughters, Paula A. Wiles of Brunswick, and Jean Harley-Barger and husband Charles of Frederick; three granddaughters, Jessica A. Wiles of Brunswick, and Andrea M. Harley and Samantha M. Gibbons, both of Frederick; six brothers and sisters, William Elliott and wife Maureen, James Elliott and wife Gerri, Carol Tennant, and Barbara Russo and husband Danny, all of Massachusetts, Mary Sandretzky and husband Thomas of Brunswick, and Janice Martin and husband Marlin of New Market, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wiles will also be remembered by her friends, Joanna and Doug Mandschenk.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, with Rev. Dave Meadors of Faith Assembly of God, Westminster, officiating.
Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to set up an educational fund for Mrs. Wiles' grandchildren, c/o Jean Harley-Barger, 40 Livingstone Terrace, Frederick, Md. 21702.
