Delbert Frank Lundquist, 91, of Idaho Falls, Idaho and formerly of Ririe, passed away Monday, December 20, 2016 in Idaho Falls.

Delbert was born October 8, 1925 in LaBelle, Idaho, the son of Frank Royal Lundquist and Edith Marie Moses Lundquist. He grew up in LaBelle and was a graduate of Rigby High School. During WWII he served in the US Navy.

Delbert married Loretta Riddle in 1948, they later divorced. On November 12, 1965, Delbert married Mary Colleen Poore Davies in Ririe, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together they served an LDS Mission to Omaha, Nebraska. He had served as Bishop of the Ririe LDS 1st Ward and as a Temple Officiator in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Delbert worked as a Correctional Officer in Carson City, Nevada at the Nevada State Prison. After his retirement, he worked as the Sexton of the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery as well as serving on the Ririe City Council.

Delbert enjoyed working. He loved to garden and to work in his yard, cutting down trees and burning them.
Delbert is survived by his wife; Colleen Lundquist of Idaho Falls, Idaho. His daughters; Carla (Tom) Nichols of Las Vegas, NV, Lorraine (Joe) Brown of Kittridge, CO and Shellie (Jack) Edwards of Idaho Falls, ID. His sons; Randall (Linda) Lundquist of Bothell, WS, Delbert Brian (Valerie) Lundquist of Kittridge, CO, Steven (Barbara) Davies of Portland, OR and Kevin (Lori) Davies of Idaho Falls, ID. Sisters; Margie Siebert of Colorado Springs, CO and Joyce Polson of Rigby, ID. 19 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gary and Blaine and sisters; Louise, Mary and Ethel, a granddaughter, Kara Lee Davies, and a grandson Charlie Brown.

A funeral service will be held, Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Ririe LDS Stake Center (14061 N 130 E, Ririe, ID). The family will meet with friends on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 6 to 7:30 PM at Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 W. Main St. Rigby, ID) and again on Wednesday, at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 AM. Interment will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
