The Burr Oak, Mich., native has lived in Fort Wayne since 1940, and retired from General Electric in 1973.
He was a member of the First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, the Mizpah Shrine, the Summit City Masonic Lodge, Chapter No. 141 Order of the Eastern Star, the Trinity English Lutheran Men's Club and the Plymouth Congregational Men's Club.
Surviving are his wife, Lucille; a daughter, Marilyn Stoner of Gregory, Mich.; a son, N. Virgil of Fort Wayne; a stepdaughter, Barbara Hill of Fort Wayne; a stepson, Richard Snyder of Fort Wayne; and sisters, Charlene Blood of Buchanan, Mich. and Gene Friend of Riverview, Fla.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 W. Wayne St., with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Calling is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
