BELLVILLE, Paul LEWIS, 65 years of age, went to be with our Lord Tuesday November 2, 2010.
Lew as he was well known, lived in Atlanta Georgia with his wife of nearly twenty years, Maggie. Lew lived a beautiful and rich life.
Lew grew up in St. Louis Missouri, raised by his parents Anna Lou and John Bellville. He grew up with his beloved sister Teri Bellville, now Duffy, and Lew has forever been proud of his sister's continued success in Atlanta with TDuffy and Associates interior design company. With John Bellville's passing, Annalou married Dr. John Carrier, who raised Lew and Teri with love and devotion.
After a little too much fun freshman year at Mizzou, Lew buckled down and graduated from Drury College in Springfield, Missouri, or as he affectionally referred to Drury, "the Harvard of the Midwest." He was soon after drafted to the army reserves and spent his time in the service at Fort Collins, Colorado. Lew's business career spanned years of increased success with companies like Proctor and Gamble, Spaulding, Fuqua Industries, LS Brown, and Nextel. His fondest memories of his work years were trips to the Far East as merchandise manager for boating accessories as well as the planning of the local marketing for Nextel during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. Lew received many honors and accolades through his career.
He also worked in various community efforts, and his most memorable was certifying Dutch the welsh corgi to become a Happy Tails team, and visited many senior centers and childrens' homes with the goal of comfort and smiles for the patients. Lew loved his horses, his dogs, Duke, Dutch, Cody, and Jake. He spoke fondly of his early morning ski trips to Lake Jackson. He specialized in barefoot and slalom skiing and taught many how to ski. Lew loved his beach house and walks along the ocean. He loved his lake house and the zippy boat he would pilot.
Lew is survived by his wife, Margaret 'Maggie' Bellville, and was always proud and supportive of her in her career and shared her love of competitive horse showing. He is survived by his daughter Corinne Harradine, a cable executive, Teri Duffy of Atlanta, his niece Megan Hamilton and her husband Paul and their son Scotty, as well as many cousins, family members and dear friends around the world
A service to celebrate Lew's life will be held Monday, November 15 at 2 pm at the church of the Atonement on High Point Rd in Sandy Springs. The family will receive friends following the service. Internment of the cremains will take place in Saint Louis at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family prefers that friends make donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Atlanta in Lew's name.
