Graveside service for Mr. James Louis Adair, 89, of Goodwater, will be Sunday, August 28, 2011 at 4 p.m. at the Mt. Olive Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Wayne Walker will officiate.

Mr. Adair passed away on Friday, August 26, 2011 at Chapman Healthcare Center. He was born on February 25, 1922 in Coosa County, AL to Thomas Jefferson Adair and Vida Mae Sanders Adair. He was an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and member of the cemetery committee. He worked as a contract electrical lineman and was active in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 136. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing rook and dominoes. Mr. Adair was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Katie Ravenall Waters Adair of Alexander City; daughter, Phyllis A. Petty of Alexander City; son, James Stanley Adair (Debbie) of Goshen, AL; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Geneva Easterwood of Alexander City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ernest Thomas Adair; one brother and 7 sisters.
