Rosemary was born August 27, 1928 in Manly, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Pauline Roskup. She attended schools in Iowa City. Rosemary worked for the University of Iowa dormitories in housekeeping for 20 years, retiring in 1986. She married (1) Maynard Poggenpohl, son of Tilly Mnu, (2) JAMES JONES, and (3) Robert "Speed" Dahnke in September 1976.
She is survived by her sons, John Jones (Carole) of Amana, Iowa, Gray Bender (Barbara) of Vacaville, California, Donald Britt (Kay) Cerrilos of New Mexico, Delbert Jones (Sharon) of Bonanza, Arkansas, Richard Jones of Mountainburg, Arkansas and Dale Jones (Teresa) of Iowa City, daughters, Sandy Stephenson of Iowa City and Chris VanDenBerg (Les) of Durango, Colorado, 1 step-son Robert Dahnke (Cindy) of Iowa City, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Speed in December 2003 and a son in law, Daryl Stephenson.
Services will be Wednesday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial of cremains will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. The family requests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association of Eastern Iowa.
