Richard Stuart Adams was the son of Stuart Adams and Catherine Leslie Adams of Shercock House, County Cavan, Ireland. Richard married Jane Guest of Bridgewater, County Somerset, England, in 1827. Richard Stuart Adams died at age 47 in August of 1837, and was interred in "Ackworth Churchyard" on August 11, 1837. He was buried beside his wife who died the previous month on July 8, 1837. St. Cuthbert's Church and Churchyard are located in Ackworth, a village near Pontefrac, in West Yorkshire, England.
