Ronnie Lee Sutphin, 72,
formerly of Radford and of Christiansburg, died Thursday, December 25, 2008.

Ron joined the United States Air Force, retiring after twenty one years. He also served as a law enforcement officer for Carroll County, and Radford University Police Department.

He was born May 11, 1936 in Easton, Md. to the late Henry Taylor and Virginia Mae Sutphin.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Mabe Sutphin;
three sons, Ronnie Lee Sutphin, Jr., and his wife, Mary, Scott Taylor Sutphin and wife, Jeannette, Michael Harmon; one daughter, Kim Michelle Hodge and her husband, Floyd. He is also survived by four grandsons, Floyd Paul Hodge, Jr., Matthew McKinley Hodge and his wife, Virginia, Ronnie Lee Sutphin, III, Ricky Paniagua; two granddaughters, Ashley Michelle Sutphin, and Alexandra Katherine Sutphin.

No visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers contributions in his honor may be made to the Ronnie Sutphin Memorial Fund, c/o 165 Patriot Way, Christiansburg, Va., 24073. A military honors graveside service will be held, 11 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2008 at Highland Memory Gardens with Pastor Danny Collins officiating. The Sutphin family is being served by Horne Funeral Service.
