James Allen Davis 1940 - 2011
James Allen Davis, age 71 of Chilton entered into rest Friday, August 26, 2011. Graveside services were held Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Mooreville Cemetery with Minister John Sirman officiating. The family received friends on Tuesday, at Adams Funeral Home in Marlin.
James was born May 5, 1940 in Fisk, MO to Claude and Fannie Stucker Davis. He was a service station operator in Chilton from 1988 to 2007. He also retired from Santa Fe Railroad Company where he served as a bridge builder for 12 years. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Viet Nam War years. He was an avid gun collector, was a faithful member of his coffee group but the love of his life was his grandson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Perkins.
Survivors: Daughter - Misty Meredith and husband Dudley and grandson Mason all of Katy, Sisters - Anna Mae Maples, Helen Murray, Betty Pettit, Mary McRoberts, Shirley Davis, Carol Davis and Cathye Davis. A number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Mooreville Cemetery Association.
