Douglas Jay Vanlandingham

Douglas Jay Vanlandingham, 44, of Everett, died in a tragic RV accident in Wells, Nevada, on December 22 2005, with his twin brother, Darryl, while traveling to Arionza for the holidays.
He was born in Renton, Washington, on August 22, 1961, the second of twin boys born to Gail and Helen Vanlandingham. The family moved to Everett, where he went to school and graduated from Cascade High School in 1980. Doug was employed at the Everett Boeing Plant, where he worked on the Flight Line, and traveled the world as a aircraft on ground mechanic.
He married his beloved wife, Lynn (Southwick), who shared his passion of swing dancing and music. He was devoted to their son, Soren, and considered his family as his greatest achievement. He found success in all areas that he chose to take an interest. He recently got back into glass blowing, created beautiful pieces of art and talked about starting his own business. He was the proud coach of the "Tsunami Surfers", Soren's soccer team, that won the championship this past year. He touched the lives of many people and will be sorely missed.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Terry; and his mother, Helen.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Lynn, and their 13 year old son, Soren; his father, Gail, of Everett; brothers, Mike (Linda), of Shelton, Washington, and Mark (Karen), of Snohomish, Washington; brother-in-law, Shawn Southwick, of Everett; nephews, Glynn, Eric, and Josh; and nieces, Heather, Heidi, and Teri.
A memorial service with be held at a later date, where the family wishes you to join us in the celebration of Doug's life.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Soren Vanlandingham's benevolent savings at the Boeing Employee Credit Union.
