John and I were married December 28, 1984 at the home of the country music legend, Conway Twitty in Hendersonville, Tennessee. We amended our wedding vows over a plaque of the Crown of Thorns and the Lord on April 20, 2006 on his last day of internal radiation.
John is a wonderful man who loved a good game of pool and to ride his red Gold Wing Motorcycle. Pool was a part of his life since his Grandpa Allgire would place him on a stool in a pool hall and teach him how to play, until the day he passed away with lung cancer. Therefore, the design of an 8-Ball on a pool table was the only proper headstone for John. I am sure he loves his new pool table here next to his Grandpa Allgire.
The nickname "Vernne" is a name that I called John for many years. It came about because of a T.V. commercial where this man had a saying, "Ya know what I mean, Vern?" Well, John picked that saying up in a BIG way and I would reply, "I know what you mean, Vern!" He hated it and then learned to love it and even changed the way it was spelled. He wanted it to have the letter "N" twice in the name instead of once and with the letter "e" at the end.
Big Hugs Vernne :) Sherri
