Ted Kattau, a young farmer, 27 years of age, was struck and instantly killed by lightning while herding cattle Monday morning on his farm near Kramer. No inquest was held and the Lancaster Coroner deputized F.J. Rademacher of Crete to act in his place. Mr. Rademacher did not believe an inquest necessary and proceeded at once to prepare the body for burial.
The funeral services were held at the German Methodist Church Wednesday morning and the remains laid at rest in the Kramer cemetery. The young man's sudden and untimely death causes much sorrow among his many friends and the News joins with them in extending condolence to the bereaved relatives.
