Discharged for disability on December 10, 1862, at Falmouth, Virginia. Enlisted in Independant Company of the Fourth Michigan Volunteer Infantry on February 6, 1864, for 3 years. Commissioned Second Lieutenant on February 24, 1864. On detached service with Company F of the First Michigan Infantry, by order, July 2, 1864, Petersburg, Virginia. Transferred to Company K of the Reorganized Fourth Michigan Infantry, on July 6, 1865. Resigned and honorably discharged for disability on July 21, 1865, by General Order # 564, U.S. War Department.
