| Birth: | 1891 | | Death: | Oct. 23, 1930 Chicago Cook County Illinois, USA |  Organized Crime Figure. Born in Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily, he immigrated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin around 1912. He and his family eventually settled on the North Side of Chicago, Illinois, where he became in volved in liquor bootlegging, and where he eventually came into a conflict with crime boss Al Capone. After several years and many deaths, he was elected president of the benevolent society "Unione Siciliane" (which was under heavy organized crime influence), but he was machine-gunned to death outside a friend's apartment on North Kolmar Avenue by Capone's men.
