Edward H. Kalkhoff

TEMPLETON -- Edward H. Kalkhoff, 70, of Templeton, died at 3:30 am Sunday, Feb. 3, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital, Carroll. He had been ill for the last two years.

Funeral rites will be held at 11 am Wednesday to Sacred Heart Church, Templeton, with the Rev. Eugene T. Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 7 pm Monday at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning. There will be rosary recitations at 8 and 8:30 pm Monday, a scripture service at 8 and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 8:30 pm Tuesday.

Mr. Kalkhoff, son of Louis and Elizabeth Lohaus Kalkhoff, was born near Templeton Aug. 18, 1903. He was a resident of this community all of his life and had lived in town since February 1956. He was married to Mary Fangmann in April 1946, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. F.H. Huismann officiating at the wedding in Sacred Heart Church, Templeton. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and Templeton Council No. 1972, Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Floyd of Carroll and Donald of Manning; a daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Marlene) Gross of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Peter (Anna) Thielen and Rose Kalkhoff of Carroll; and two brothers, Henry of Clements, Minn., and William of Templeton.

Three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
