Charles I. Harmon
Charles Isaac "Ike" Harmon, 86 years old, 1510 Good Hope, died Sunday morning at 2 at the Lutheran Home.
He was born April 3, 1887, at Sedgewickville, and married the former Miss Eddie Florence Thompson on November 19, 1908. She preceded him in death on November 26, 1960.
Mr. Harmon attended schools in Sedgewickville and farmed there and at Fruitland before moving to Cape Girardeau 50 years ago. He worked for 24 years for Marquette Cement Co., before retiring in 1952 as a boiler engineer. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors: daughters, Mrs. Agnes Linderer, Spring, Tex., Mrs. Dan Strack, Park Forest, Ill., Mrs. Lance Hargraves, Cape Girardeau, and Mrs. Louis Dubs, Shiloh, Ill.; sons, Cletus Harmon, Belleville, Ill., Clifford Harmon, Columbia, and Cecil Harmon, Kansas City; sisters, Mrs. Lyman Hayden, Cape Girardeau, and Mrs. Otto Miller, Jackson; 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. A daughter also preceded him in death.
The body is at Brinkopf-Howell Funeral Home where friends may call.
Service will be held at 2 Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home. Dr. W. T. Holland, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
Grandsons, David Hargraves, Scott Dubs, Joe Harmon, James Bullock, Ronald Strack and Roger Walker, will be pallbearers.
