After coming to the States, they apparently spent some time in Ohio as they had a son named Franz Johann in that location. Records from a defunct Catholic cemetery in Columbus, Ohio, show this child died January 8, 1856 at age 7 weeks. It says he was the son of Heironimus and Appolonia Heintzler. The next record of their residence is in Wisconsin where their next child, Josephine, was born in 1858. By 1860, they were living in Saline County, Missouri. They had three more known children born to them in Missouri: Frank Matthew Heinzler (1860-1952), Rosa in 1862, and Albert (1865-1903).
