She was born in Russell County to the late Ferdinand and Bertha Smith Stephens.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kelly Bernard; two brothers Amos and Caleb Stephens; and one sister Mazel Jones.
She is survived by three sisters, Eunice Hagguland, Belva Coffey and Edith Bernard all of Russell Springs and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 15, 2000 at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Frances Hughes and Bro. Fred Disney officiating.
Burial was in Lucenda Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Carl Phelps, Nathan Stephens, Rob Flatt, Paula Antle, Ann-Regran Grider and Jack Bernard.
