Jack L. Dalton, 73, of 625 N. Market St., died at 1:20 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, Indiana University Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He had been a patient there for one week and in ill health the past six months.

He was born Jan. 6, 1938, in Lafayette, and was the son of the late Howard and Naomi Corbin Dalton. He attended Shadeland School in Tippecanoe County.

He married Norma L. Hill in Battle Ground on Sept. 11, 1965, and she survives.

Mr. Dalton worked for the former Scott-Ladd Foods in Lafayette, and Wallmann's Quality Foods Inc. in Delphi. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Steve Dalton of Delphi, and John Dalton of Lafayette; and three sisters, Barbara Newkirk of Delphi, Sue Miller and Eloise Whitlock (husband: Bucky) of Indiana.

Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter. Preceded in death by 2 sons, Dale and Michael, 5 sisters, 3 brothers.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until his funeral at 12 p.m. Monday at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi, Pastor Dan Fisher officiating. Burial at Swank Cemetery, Pettit.
