Miss Dota McCormick, 36, died unexpectedly at her home in East Chicago, Indiana, Thursday, January 15, 1953. Her death was attributed to a stroke of paralysis. The body was returned here and funeral services were held at Smyrna Church of Christ Sunday afternoon. Silas F. Shaw, the minister, officiated and burial was in Smyrna cemetery.
Miss McCormick was a native of Warren County, born June 5, 1915. Her parents, who survive, are Sam McCormick and Lou Nunley McCormick. Miss McCormick was a member of the Church of Christ and had resided in Indiana for several years.
Besides her parents, she is survived by four brothers; Dock, Luther and Joe McCormick of McMinnville, and Lloyd McCormick of Murfreesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Clyde McBride, McMinnville, and Mrs. Lela Belle Getz, East Chicago, Indiana.
High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
